This beautiful porcelain clock is one of the Ansonia Clock Companys porcelain line with the trade name 'RECRUIT' fired into the porcelain back of the case. When the former owner offered the clock for sale we were under ther impression that it had a 30-hour mechanism. However, it turned out to have an 8-day movement which is clean and running well with a full strike on the hours and a single strike (passing strike) on the half hours. There is a small paint smudge on the rear edge of the top which appears to be as it came from the factory...because it is fired under the glaze. It isn't at all distracting and we focus on it in our picture in the interest of full-disclosure. The clean, 8-day movement runs perfectly, keeping good time and the strike operates correctly as well. There are NO chips, breaks, repairs or damage to the porcelain case. The dial is original with the correct Ansonia trade mark. The hands and pendulum are also original to the clock. If MINT, it would book for twice our price. And few would notice the little paint smudge on the rear of the top of the case. So, it becomes one of those great 'deals' for anyone seeking an absolutely beautiful blue and floral cased porcelain clock from Ansonia.
