This truly is an exquisite Louis the XV style Victorian Walnut and Gilt Bronze Bracket clock with it's original wall bracket which is also walnut and gilt bronze. It is incredibly rear to find a clock such as this with it's original bracket. The movement is lovely striking on both the hour and once on the half past. The clock is superb quality and is made by LENKIRCH who are renowned throughout the world for their fine quality craftsmanship in their movements and the beautifully detailed and highly decorated cases.

The dial is is a work of art in it's own right. It has individual Cartouches with blue Roman Numerals which are then mounted on superbly embossed dial. The dial is covered with glass which is mounted in a wonderful shaped gilt bronze frame. The door opens to access the dial which is finished with pretty fingers. The case is finished with a lovely pediment which is gilt bronze and depicted a young gentleman sitting on a tree stump and wearing a hat with a feather. The clock is raised on four lovely detailed scroll gilt bronze feet. The case is made from burr walnut and walnut which is a lovely rich colour.

The bracket is also superb with wonderful gilt bronze detailing and beautiful walnut and burr walnut with Kingswood cross banding. It is lovely to see the shell to the top centre of the clock repeated in the centre of the bracket.

The clock has recently been cleaned and serviced and as such the movement is immaculately as can be seen in the photographs. It is stamped with the LENZKIRCH trademark behind the gong stand which has been photographed. It is also stamped '47' and '612946'. The serial number indicated that the clock was made between 1877 and 1878 . The clock strikes the hours on the hour and also strikes once on the half past.

The movement is accessed by a door to the rear In addition this clock comes complete with it's winding key and pendulum.

AGE:
The serial number to the clock would date this clock as between 1877 and 1878.

CONDITION:
The case and bracket are both in lovely condition, just minor marks commensurate with age and careful use, as can be seen in the photographs. The movement is immaculately clean and is happily ticking away and keeping good time as it has recently been cleaned and serviced.
