Beautiful white marble and gilt French lyre clock made by the famous Spaulding & Co. Gold and Silver Smiths of Chicago and Paris (see photo of their 1893 magazine advertisement below). The exceptional work of art is crowned by "golden" gilt sun in homage to the Sun King, Louis XIV. The clock is in excellent working order and in great condition. Note the unique fine design which includes a special pendulum that is attached to ring of brilliants circling the clock rocking back and forth. Circa 1890. h. 26 1/2" w. 10" d. 6".
