A French Louis XV style "Cressent" bureau / desk, 19th century
Bureau plat double sided (or middle) inlaid rosewood and violet wood frames. Opening 3 drawers, the sides are decorated with heads of the Sun King bronze child. Rich ornamentation carved in bronze busts of espagnolettes about 4 feet. Arched feet are extended falls bronze finish on the claws of the Lion. Plateau burgundy leather, leather frame golden iron. The plateau is surrounded by a mold worked at all 4 corners. Quality office built on oak, bronzes and original locks, central locking triple bolts.
