Magnificent North German Biedermeier Secretary from the first quarter of the 19th century. Amazing book-matched Birchwood on pine. The falling bureau door covers various compartments and drawers and a slide-out writing surface covered in amazing brown leather, all flanked by four columns with 24 ct gold plate capitals. Beautiful line inlays on the front and drawers. The seven drawer fitted interior consists of one long drawer above six short drawers and ebonized trims surrounding a door. The interior door is flanked by half columns with gold plated capitals. This Secretary retains its beautiful, rich, original color & patina and has a fresh french polish. Comes apart in two pieces for easier transport. Fully restored by our qualified craftsmen. North Germany circa 1825
