This is an elegantly simple desk made from solid and nicely patinaed cherry by the first quarter of the 20th century. This lovely piece is topped by a serpentine shaped yellowish leather top trimmed by gilt borders and honoring the serpentine shape of the top, which can be extended thanks to matching pull out leaves. The façade is simple and provides a 3-drawer frieze mounted with acanthus shaped handles and escutcheon. The pediment consists of boldly sculpted cabriole legs providing sturdiness. Note that leather is not original and estimated to be 10-20 years old. It is in used but still good condition. Circa date 1920. Dimensions 30â€high/ 54â€long/ 82â€long with leaves out/ 30â€deep.
