Superb antique newel post in walnut, salvaged out of Louisville, KY, and dating from the late 1800s. The octagonal newel is crowned by a three-tier turned upper section. Below the octagonal body, two more turned levels sit atop a squared off base. This walnut newel post is in very good antique condition with some scuffs and chips as shown. The newel is 7-1/2" wide and 40†tall.
