Splendid antique newel post in cherry, salvaged out of Burlington, Iowa, and dating from the 1860s. The newel is crowned by a turned upper section. Below, the octagonal body sits atop a squared off base. This cherry newel post is in very good antique condition with some scuffs and chips as shown. The newel is 8" wide and 42-1/2†tall.
