QUEZAL, ART GLASS VASE, GOLD AURENE FAVRILE, VERY NICE - For Sale

QUEZAL, ART GLASS VASE, GOLD AURENE FAVRILE, VERY NICE
Price: $335.75
For sale is a Beautiful Gold Vase made by The Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Company of Maspeth (Queens), Long Island New York. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 1 11/16" tall and has a diameter of 3 1/4"

The Vase displays a very strong Gold Iridescence with strong hues of Fuchsia on the inside and Rich Platinum Blues on the outside. The Vase has a very nice rolled top edge. I have seen this shape with Quezal Vases before and they always had ribbing. This is the first time I have seen this Vase with no Ribbing. Some may refer to this as a Master Salt but I feel it is a Cabinet Vase. Please correct me if I am wrong. When I first saw this piece I thought it was a piece of Steuben Aurene because of the brilliant Gold Iridescence to it.

The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few minor scratches on the bottom and this is common for its age. This piece has a nice counter sunk polished pontil. The sign of a Quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is signed on the bottom inside the counter sunk pontil and is marked "Quezal".

Martin Bach Sr. was the founder of Quezal. He worked for L.C.T. Tiffany Studios from 1892-1902. The quality of his glass was as good as Tiffany, Steuben and Loetz. The Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Co was in business from 1902-1924.

Quezal vases Rarely come up in today's market. It appears that the collectors do not want to let these go. I'm quite sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This Vase was made Circa 1910-1915.
