Exceptional John Hoare cut glass vase that is a extremely fine example of American Brilliant cut glass from its golden age. Stands over 12'' tall and is girthy with a beautiful checked etching and a star top. very good condition with no teeth missing or chipped. Overall condition is at least an 8 or 9 out of 10. A Bohemian Cut Glass Pokel or Goblet with Hunt Scene, Circa 1840-60 Silesia is an historically important glass making region of Europe. ;The glass, of bell form, with beautifully engraved horseman and hounds with grape vine and wheat sprays. ;The bowl is raised on a circular foot. ;This pieces was made with a wonderfully detailed engraved design of a fox hunting scene for the British market. A pokel was a goblet with a stemed foot and a cover, often missing today. ;It was passed amongst the guests for drinking a toast on a festive occasion, hence sometimes called a Gesundheitsglas. Set of 6 sterling silver overlaid cut glass open salts in their original, fitted box. Made early 20th century. Each salt is a little over 1 1/2 inches diameter and slightly under 1/2 inch in height. The salts have a nicely cut floral looking sun burst that covers almost the entire bottom surface. The rims are entirely covered in silver and the sides have a scrolling design in silver overlay, in the Art Nouveau style. Each salt is hallmarked - engraved marks are difficult to read, but appear to be 925 over 1000 FINE and 3 circles, the central one with a capital A in it, followed by number eg 3C or 96. The condition of all of the salts is very good, with no chips/cracks/restoration. The box is 7 1/4 - 7 1/2 inches square. The fitted bottom is made of deep forest green velvet. The rest is embroidered silk in the same colour. Besides a little wear to the silk on the corners, the box is in good condition. The bright gold coloured clasp is very pretty, but is missing the little latch that connects top to bottom (see ''photos). Outstanding and rare cut, acid etched and enameled glass tumbler. Made 19th century. Exact origin unknown but clearly top European factory (Moser, Heckert and especially WIener Werkstatte come to mind when looking at the style and quality). 5 1/8inches high. Tumbler is cut in regular geometric pattern with elongated facets in a band around the bottom, narrow part of the glass. Upper rim is gilded. The main decoration consists of a deeply etched, enameled and gilded pattern. Cobalt blue with some burgundy / red enamel and lots of gilding. The central theme is pairs of mirror-image swans separated by scrolling foliage. The quality of this work is without parallel. Condition is very good except for negligible wear to gilding on rim.
