Another great rarity is this fantastic GIANT blown glass flask from the French Pyrenees town of Languedoc! It measures 10” tall and weighs about 3 lbs. The glass is super!!! Millions of tiny bubbles throughout. Beautiful deep teal green / emerald green color. Conical kick-up in base with pontil scar. Tons of base wear. Beautiful patina (soft bloom) to glass. The photos do not do this magnificent bottle justice!
This bottle is as perfect as you will ever find a 300+ year old bottle: only some light inside haze.
It is speculated that these giant flasks were originally covered in leather and carried by farmers into the field. The last photo is for comparison.
