BELLA MURANO!
THIS ITEM IS SOLD, PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER ADS.
Founded in 1956 on the Venetian island of Murano, the Italian glass maker Luigi Mandruzzato began his glass making business. In 1965 his son Gianfranco Mandruzzato joined the business, taking over the company two years later. Gianfranco’s involvement marked the family firm’s turn towards glass sculpting, which involved improving and refining engraving and polishing techniques, and led to the company modeling and completing pieces designed by artists such as Chagall, Ernst, and Picasso, for the Fucina degli Angeli. A family business to this day, Gianfranco’s son Alessandro Mandruzzato currently runs the business.
This Luigi Mandruzzato, Murano Sommerso Vase is a mid 20th Century multi facetted polished glass piece. The Italian Venetian vase is multi faceted in a geometric shape with a spectacular clear body encased in an angular block of amber glass using the Sommerso technique. This Murano is a very fine collectable piece of Italian Venetian glasswork. It is a breathtaking work of art and would make a gorgeous display piece in any home.
This vase has the original makers label “Luigi Mandruzzato, Murano Italy” on the top.
CONDITION: NEAR Mint! I say this is NEAR mint because after much searching and scrutiny I cannot find any chips, cracks or repairs. However, it's always possible to miss something, so I hesitate to use the term MINT.
This is just my honest opinion and impression of this piece as I see it. Please see the numerous pictures included and judge for yourself.
MEASUREMENTS: 7.75" tall x 3.5" wide at the middle tapering to 2" at the top.
As the pictures will confirm, this is truly a beautiful piece sure to be a favorite among Murano art glass collectors, with many more years to embellish and beautify any home.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
