This is a fabulous antique cast bronze mail slot, dating from the early 1900’s, with its original matching inside trim. The letter slot features a simple beveled border; the hinged door is marked “Letters.” This letter box plate is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. We left the green paint on this set because we liked it; if you prefer to have it stripped and cleaned, we can remove the paint for a small additional charge. The front plate measures 8 ¼” by 2 ½” overall, with an opening of 5” by 1 3/8”; the inside plate is 6 7/8” by 2 1/8”. The simplicity of this set would make it a lovely addition to any decorating style – it would be particularly nice in an Arts & Crafts bungalow.
