This is a superb antique figural five-light cast brass chandelier, dating from the 1920’s, featuring a charming cameo motif and an original polychrome finish. The chandelier begins with a elegant loop finial formed of volutes and acanthus leaves; five hammered and curled brass bands, ornamented with polychrome jewels, connect to a broad brass band to form the chandelier body. The band is accented with oval cameos depicting a lady of ancient Greece and bordered in a rope pattern. The chandelier arms, coming up between the cameos, feature crown-like polychrome bobeches. The chandelier finishes in curled brass bands converging to a center finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 21” wide and 21 ½” tall, and the fixture is 41” long overall.
