A wonderful antique Neoclassical five-light chandelier in its original silver plate over pewter, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a beautifully cast, silver plated canopy ornamented with leaves, flowers, and reeds. Below, the chandelier body is crowned with a loop finial ornamented with volutes and leaves, below which a finely detailed baluster supports the chandelier body. The underside of the chandelier is hung with icicle prisms and ornamented with acanthus leaves; five chandelier arms, ornamented with foliate detail, radiate from the center and support foliate bobeches with dangling finials. The bobeches are connected to each other by volutes with an anthemion in the center. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18” wide and 16” tall, and the fixture is 32 ½” long overall. A matching chandelier is also available, item # NC928-RW.
