Magnificent antique five-tier silverplate over brass chandelier with original crystal prisms, dating from the 19th century. This two-tone, five light “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a gadrooned and foliate ceiling canopy, coming down in chain to a decorative loop finial. The upper chandelier body features a canopy of graduated crystal prisms, cascading out to a round silver band with a diamond and bead pattern. The chandelier continues in five tiers of sparkling crystal icicle prisms, and is finished in a hanging faceted glass ball. Because this light fixture retains all its original prisms, a few prisms may have minor chips. This light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is approximately 16" wide, 36” tall and 54" long overall.
