Wonderful Arts & Crafts Table Lamp, Quezal Pulled Feather Shade~~~ - For Sale

Wonderful Arts & Crafts Table Lamp, Quezal Pulled Feather Shade~~~
Price: $650.00
For Sale is an Arts and Crafts style Desk lamp with a wonderful decorated Quezal Art Glass Shade. The Table Lamp is a nice size for the desk. It stands 22 1/4" tall to the top of the ring and can reach as far as 13" fully extended with shade in fitter. It has a 2 1/4" Fitter Cup with all 3 original Screws to hold the Quezal Art Glass Shade.

The Table Displays a wonderful Arts + Crafts style. The entire lamp base is made of Solid Brass and has a cast Iron weight in the bottom to give it much weight and stability. This will allow for the arm to be fully extended with the Art Glass Shade installed. This lamp will not tip over. The Base has a wonderfully aged original Bronzed Patina. This is a really neat table lamp. You can adjust the shade in different positions horizontally as well as cocking and pointing the shade. You do this by turning the knob on the Flat Turn Key Switch side and you can slide the Arm left to right and vice versa. You can also adjust the Height vertically as well. You simply turn the opposite side turn knob and you can achieve the perfect height. There is even a solid brass carrying loop on the top stem. This makes it easy to move the lamp around the desk. You can also turn the shade a full 360 degrees by holding the base and turning the top loop after you loosen the turn knob opposite of the flat turn key in the socket side.

The Shade is absolutely Beautiful. It is made by The Quezal Glass Company of Maspeth (Queens) New York. It is called a Green Feather Pull. The shade itself is a nice size as it stands 4 1/4" tall and is 4 1/4" in diameter at its widest point. This is a 4 step art glass shade. The first is a beautiful Gold Aurene Interior with a cased Calcite White background exterior. Then you have a very beautiful Green Feather Pull that is outlined in Gold Favrile Aurene along the entire edge. There are 10 ruffles at the shade's Flower end. The Shade is an excellent example as there are no cracks, nick chips or dings. It has a wonderfully rolled fitter edge. The Shade is signed "Quezal" in a silvered mark along the inside top rim.

The Lamp Base is considered to be in very good condition. It does shows signs of wear common with it age. It fully works the way it was intended too as I rewired it and tested it. The Base is unsigned and I have shown a picture of the bottom. The Flat Turn key is marked with the letter "F" and the socket exterior is marked "General Electric Co". It has a signed 2 1/4 Fitter that holds the shade and is marked "Pat'd Feb 23' 04". The lamp base is 100% original with the exception of the Antique Style Brown Rayon Cord. Even the Plug on this is Vintage. The interior turn key may have been replaced but it was done with a vintage part. Quality Vintage Art Glass Table Lamps with all original parts are becoming harder and harder to find. I'm positive the buyer will be quite please with their purchase.

The Lamp was made Circa 1914-1910 based on the socket exterior. It would look outstanding on the Stickley Arts and Crafts Style Desk!!
