For Sale is a wonderful Art Pottery Bowl made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, NJ. The Bowl is done in what I call a "Paneled" form. The Bowl is done in one of Fulper Pottery's most beautiful glaze combinations known as "Cats Eyes Flambé with Copper Dust Crystals. The Bowl is large as it stands 2 3/8" tall and is 13" in diameter at it widest point.

The Bowl has a wonderful Scallop Modeled form. It displays a beautiful Deep Brown Flambé Glaze that spills over the top edge and down it side to the underside. The glaze is so thick that it forms glaze bumps on the underside. You can see the beautiful under glaze which is a caramel brown. When looking into the center of the bowl you can clearly see the Cats' Eye looking glaze. It is further Accented with Copper Dust Crystals. The Glaze Swirls on the interior of the Bowl is just outstanding!The pictures tell the whole story.

The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The bowls shows minor signs of use. There are very few Glaze pops and a few minor scratches as is very common for Fulper glazes. The bowl is quite heavy and stable. The Bowl is marked on the underside bottom with Fulper's Vertical Race Track Ink Stamp Signature mark with stylized oriental letters. This would date this piece to have been made circa 1922-1928.

This is an Outstanding Example of this Form and Glaze from Fulper. This is know as shape number 472 in the Fulper Catalog pages and was called a "Flat Modeled Bowl". There were 2 sizes to this bowl a 15" and a smaller 13". This would be the smaller bowl I'm selling. I'm quite sure the Buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This would look Great on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Table.
