Victorian, date cipher for 1871 Wedgwood Majolica compote with brown reticulated basketweave rim around green vine leaves and grapes. Cream ground with four green leaves and grapes on yellow basket motif in the center. Four feet molded as hooves with grapes hanging in between. Sharp molding and good glazes. Cream underside with impressed maker''s marks ''WEDGWOOD'' and date cipher ''QXZ'' for 1871 under the base. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Stained crazing to the cream ground. 3.5ins high, 9ins diameter
