A CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN CELEDON AND UNDERGLAZE-BLUE DISH, CIRCA 1750. ; ; ; ; ;The circular dish has an everted rim with molded key motif and a shallow well molded with cloud scrolls. ;The dish is glazed in celadon with five lobed reserves decorated in underglaze-blue. ;The central reserve depicts a figure fishing in a stream ;with trees near by. ;The side panels depict alternatively a riverscape, and bamboo with narcissus issuing from rockwork. Here longevity is symbolized in the bamboo, a plant which remains green throughout the winter. ;Good fortune is also represented by narcissus, the Chinese Water Fairy, which is believed to bring good fortune for twelve months if it blooms on the New Year. Diameter: 11 5/8" (29.5cm) Condition: Good
