This is a wonderful porcelain figurine of two companion elephants (Mamma and her baby) standing side by side. This collection was issued in 1971 and was retired in 1999. It has been retired for over 12 years now and there's not many of these left for sale unless being sold by a collector. The sculptor of this piece is Fulgencio Garcia who is very famous for sculpting all sorts of decorative pieces like this one. Google his work and you'll be simply amazed. Not only by the variety of sculptors he's done but also by the uniqueness and attention to detail he creates in each individual piece! This is an absolute must have for any elephant lover or animal figurine collector.
**NOTE - Tail of the smaller elephant has been broken off and the nose of the smaller elephant has also been slightly damaged. The nose is hardly noticable but the tail is clearly off. However, if you sand the little piece of the tail down, and touch it up, you'll never notice it at all. Because of this defect, we've taken 80% off the retail price. This same figurine sold for $1150.00 on Amazon less then 1 year ago.
