Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Chocolate or Coffee Pot measuring 9 1/2" in height. This piece is a very unusual shape and form and has been decorated in the rose mandarin and rose medallion scene. I believe that this was a French Limoge blank that was sent to China to be decorated. That is why we have never seen this rose medallion or rose mandarin form in Chinese Export Porcelain. I do believe it is a chocolate pot though and not a coffee pot. It has chinese marks on the base of the pot. The spout had a chip that has been professionally restored.
