Roseville Pottery, Freesia, Large Double Handled Jardiniere, Very Nice~~ - For Sale
Roseville Pottery, Freesia, Large Double Handled Jardiniere, Very Nice~~
For Sale is a wonderful piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Freesia" and the shape is a Large Jardiniere. The Vase is quite large as it measures 6 1/8" tall and is 9 1/4" in diameter outside handle measurement. The Base or Foot of the Vase measures 4 1/8" in diameter.
The Vase depicts trumpet shaped flowers with leaves climbing across the piece on both sides. This background was glazed in a lighter Green Accented with a darker green on the lower and upper part of the Jardiniere. The Flowers are done in a nice Pastel Lilac and Creamy Beige grouping on both sides. There are Mint to Olive Green leaves on both sides as well. The ear shaped handles give this Jardiniere its wonderful balance.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a small insignificant nick on the bottom ring and the inside has a small rust stain showing this piece was used. The Jardiniere is signed "Roseville U.S.A." in raised relief and also displays the shape number 669-6" also in raised relief. There is the Capital letter "F and the number "8" written in a dark Blue or black grease pencil. There are more than likely the finishers marks.
This is truly an excellent example in both form and color. It is a very beautiful Art Pottery Vase and I am positive the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was made, Circa 1945.
