Beautiful early Victorian plate. No maker's marks, but in the Rockingham style, with handled sides, gilding and self-embossed scrolls to borders. (Commonly, only a few plates in a dinner service bore the maker's marks, the rest were plain or had just a pattern number). Plate measures 28 cm wide and 23 cm deep (11 inches by 9 inches). Excellent condition - the tab glue marks on the rear shown in the photos, have since been cleaned off.
