This 4†diameter cup plate has a clear British Registry mark on the reverse which dates it to July 19th, 1846. Although the registry mark is clear, there is no maker’s mark or pattern mark.
The light blue transfer design in the center of the plate is clearly Asiatic, with a pagoda and bridge overlooking a lake, a tree in the foreground, other buildings and poplar trees in the background.
The pattern on the rim of the plate is a light blue basket-weave pattern surrounded by either rosebuds or a leafy vine.
The inner rim of the plate has an oak-leaf pattern.
Condition: Crazed with a bit of discoloration. Small surface rim chip at about 10 o’clock. Small hairline fracture at 4 o’clock. ¾†hairline crack on reverse rim.
