Victorian, date cipher for 1883 Minton Majolica turquoise oyster plate with a central well surrounded by small ochre flowers. Six small and one large shell shaped well around the rim. Cobalt stipple ground with scalloped rim to separate the wells. Green reverse. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s marks including ''MINTONS'', ''2239'' and date cipher for 1883. Good. No hairlines. Flake to edge of one well. Kiln effects: two shallow chips associated with stilt marks; glaze miss to one well; staining to reverse. Repaired rim crack. 10ins diameter
