A Pair of Spode China "Double Peacock" Pattern Baskets, (Pattern # 2118) Circa 1815. The double handled footed baskets are decorated with a pattern ;known as the "double peacock" pattern, a pattern found on Chinese Export in the 1760''s and 70''s. Spode created a large number of replacement pieces for clients for Chinese Export services that had been originally ordered 50-100 years before. ;Some patterns such as this were then issued for general sale. Dimensions: ;Length: 11 3/4 inches x 2 3/4 inches high x 7 1/4 inches width. Mark: SPODE within black square with psudo-Chinese marks with Stone China below & painter # "2118".
