Extraordinary antique French silver and enamel cabinet vase. At the bottom of the vase is the impressed head of Minerva and the French maker's mark in a diamond. This is the most detailed enamel vase I have seen in my more than 45 years in this business. The obverse central portion depicts a lovely couple elegantly dressed in 18th century clothing. She is holding a fan in her hand. Her friend hashis hand resting on a counter top looking admiringly at her. The reverse section of the enamel vase has raised gold decoration including 2 flying birds, raised gold flowers, and beautiful foliate decoration. The guilloche enamel background is a vibrant blue color. The condition is excellent no cracks, chips, or losses to the enamel. The vase measures 6-1/4 inches from top to bottom. The top has a diameter of 2-1/16 inches. The bottom has a diameter of 2-3/8 inches. Widest width at center 2-7/8 inches. This is a magnificent objet d' art guaranteed to please its new owner.
