This Roseville experimental vase is quite different than most others in that it shows a bird on the front of the vase. No other experimental one is like that. The bottom shows the specific markings for the piece. The letters 'YB' the word 'Bird' and a series of numbers. It shows shape number 769-9 which is a Primrose shape. The handles were changed to resemble Pinecone handles and there is a raised surface on the lower portion of the vase similar to that on Fuschia vases. They definitely combined ideas from many vases to make this one the beauty that it is. There was definitely some hand modeling involved in the making of this vase. It's a great design with outstanding colors and sharp detail. No chips, cracks. There is a minor restoration to a small chip on the base. All our pottery is guaranteed to be as described.
