Victorian silver babie''s rattle and whistle with repousse winged putti / cherubs on either side. 19th century, English.Measures a little over 3 1/2inches long.Front is engraved with baby name EDNA. On either side is a bell and one end narrows to form a whistle (very loud when used). Both front and back have a wonderful repousse winged cherub clashing cymbols, surrounded by delicate scrolling foliage. Great quality.since there are no hallmarks, we assume this to be silver plate.Condition generally very good. There is a negligible ding on both sides (did baby take a bite?).
