SOLD Antique 19th century Islamic chased silver comb, shaped with a crescent top decorated, and inlaid, with gold disk crescent plaques, and a gold band on the top.
The combination of solid silver and gold indicates that the comb undoubtedly was an item of considerable prestige for a high-ranking Muslim woman, and was probably given as a wedding gift.
MEASUREMENTS: Width: 7.6 cm (3 in). Height: 6.3 cm (2 1/2 in).
CONDITION: Absence of two prongs, otherwise in good condition.
