Vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver serving spoon in the rare Leaf & Blossom pattern, number 21. Made in Copenhagen, Denmark. From a vintage collection of Georg Jensen More »
Vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver serving spoon in the rare Leaf & Blossom pattern, number 21. Made in Copenhagen, Denmark. From a vintage collection of Georg Jensen silver. Measures 5 1/4 inches long and weighs approx 32grams. Bowl is clearly hand-hammered. Join to handle sculpted to look like a flower, with waisted handle echoing this theme. Arched handle with looping botantical theme - a lusciously folded leaf with beautiful fine detail partially encloses budding blossoms. This is classic Georg Jensen understated elegance with top quality execution. Inscribed marks underneath: model number 21; Name Georg Jensen in an oval of indented dots; STERLING DENMARK and a rectangle that presumably contains the designers initials. We believe this is the earlier mark used during the 1930''s, not block stamped, but engraved a little less evenly than the similar mark used post 1945. We are open to correction on this issue. Very good condition. Sold to us as Blossom pattern, but it looks like the more rare Leaf and Berry pattern. Status: For Sale Reference#: 3593 Condition: good Year: 1930 Title: VINTAGE GEORG JENSEN ST SILVER LEAF BERRY SERVING SPOON « Less

Georg Jensen: 20th Century Designs - Preface by Janet Drucker & William Drucker. This 250-page book is a reprint of jewelry and hollowware catalog pages from Georg Jensen. It More »
Georg Jensen: 20th Century Designs - Preface by Janet Drucker & William Drucker. This 250-page book is a reprint of jewelry and hollowware catalog pages from Georg Jensen. It brings eagerly sought information together in one volume. Hard to find, the original catalogs have been widely dispersed and costly, yet they provide primary information to enable identification of thousands of pieces found on the vintage market today. These original catalogs can cost $100's of dollars. There are over 1,500 different pieces illustrated. The jewelry section includes women's and men's gold and silver designs, especially those made during the 1940's, which have been difficult to identify previously. The enormous section on hollowware here especially displays hundreds of designs from the late 1950's and early 1960's. During this period, Georg Jensen designers expanded their range of tea sets, pitchers, bowls, etc. to include very popular modern forms based on Scandinavian design principles. These designs have remained among the most cherished Georg Jensen forms up to the present. The catalog descriptions include the product numbers, original retail prices from the mid-century era, measurements, and designers. A special information list identifies forty-three Georg Jensen designs in Museum collections around the world. This easy to use volume will become a standard reference for all the collectors, dealers, auction houses, and individuals who own and are inspired by Georg Jensen designs. For the past 20 years, the author, Janet Drucker, has answered questions regarding the many Georg Jensen designs, their numbers, sizes, variations, and designers. She and her son, William Drucker, are leading dealers in Georg Jensen Silver jewelry, flatware, and hollowware and other antiques. Janet is the author of the primary reference work in this field "Georg Jensen: A Tradition of Splendid Silver, which is in its second edition. « Less
