Victorian, dated 1848 1848 Woolwork Sampler by L.A. Spilsbury. Unframed. The sampler is worked in wool on canvas ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye. Meandering line border. Colours red, burgundy, cream, white, greens, browns and blues. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-15. Signed and dated ''L.A. Spilsbury . Dec 4 . 1848''. Generally good. No holes. Glue stains around the edge. Some stitch losses to alphabet and signature. Colours are faded, but still well defined. No colour run. 11ins by 10ins wide
