Pair of Victorian Brass "Good Luck" Shoes Circa. 1885 British During the Victorian era in England, it was "good luck" to give a pair of brass "match" shoes as a wedding gift. It was fashionable to have a pair on your mantle. Holds small wood stick matches. Each shoe measures 4 3/4 inches wide - 2 3/4 inches high - and 1 inch deep. Unmarked.
