Late 19th to early 20th century brooch, a large faceted amethyst mounted very simply in 9ct gold, with an attached safety chain. Brooch measures 22 mm by 16 mm (7/8 inch wide by 5/8 inch high). Stamped 9ct to the side of the mount. Very attractive, excellent condition.
