Beautiful antique Griffin head 14K diamond brooch. The Griffin is very fierce looking and wonderfully sculptured. The back of the brooch has a patent date of 1902 and is marked 14K. The diamond in the Griffin's mouth is an old mine cut measuring 12 points. It is a nice white clean diamond. In the eyes are 2 old mine cut diamonds nice color and clarity measuring 5 points each. The brooch measures 1-1/2 inches wide, 3/4 inches high. Weight 8.8 grams. This is a rare and very unusual Griffin brooch with a fierce face.
