Victorian Match Safe Necklace Circa. 1880 British Sterling silver hand-made chain, marked "Stuart Sterling - American" Match safe on chain marked JW - British. Hallmarked with maker's mark, Anchor, and Lion. Match safes are now used as pill boxes or for keepsakes. The chain measures 27 inches long. The match safe measures 1 5/8 inches high, 1 1/4 inches wide and 3/8 inch deep. Beautifully hand-chased striker on bottom. 26.5 gr. 11.0 dwt. A great combination of both English and American Victorian jewelry.
