Superb Vintage circa 1940s 18k gold, diamonds and sapphires brooch. The brooch is shaped almost like a pansy flower. It is easy to see that this is a high quality artisan made vintage designer brooch. It is European made marked 750 for 18k gold with a maker's mark below the 750. There are 28 diamonds and 6 sapphires. Combined gem weight more than 1/2 carat. Items like this are very rare and very hard to find. We were fortunate in discovering this magnificent piece as part of an estate we recently purchased in Beverly Hills. This is a unique brooch. Weight 13.5 grams. At the current price of gold just the gold value of this beautiful brooch is close to $450.00. The diamonds and sapphires add to the value the handcraftsmanship is priceless. The brooch measures 1-1/4 inch across the top from side to side. It has a very secure pin and locking device on the back.
