Antique cameo glass gravy boat / milk jug made early 20th century in France by Daum, Nancy. Measurements: 2 1/2 inches high; 5 5/8 inches long end to end. Rounded gravy / pitcher with generous applied handle on back. Upper rim culs over. Tyrelike base. Inside, the glass is a wonderful marbled golden orange, very smoothe and glossy. This smoothe glass turns over the upper rim. The rest of the outside is a matte surface, in beautiful carved cameo glass, depicting a Classic Daum winter scene, particularly well done. Snow on the ground and falling on the trees. Trees entirely bare of leaves, the trunks and branches very sensitively depicted from broad to extremely fine. Minute trees seen disappearing into the distance - very fine and delicate artistry and workmanship. The glass is signed DAUM NANCY with the Cross of Lorraine underneath. Very good condition.
