A vintage Philippine war shield from the Bontoc, an Igorot People, Northern Luzon. This shield is made of darkened wood with metal and rattan binding. It shows wear and losses from use and age as well as a small amount of loss to insect activity.The front has a medial ridge that rises at center. The concave back has an integrated, carved grip.
