Inscribed on the face of the diamond shaped blade, Presented to Captain W.E. Dollar by the Cherrbonte Cadets,
Dec 26, 1886. On the reverse of the blade, the traditional US in sunburst. Very fine presentation grade, gold gilt brass hilt with custom quality ray skin wrapped grip. The folding guard bears a deeply sculpted Federal Eagle with the reverse folding clam shell bearing a Federal Shield. The scabbard is nickel plated with the same high quality gilt brass fittings. The blade is marked at the ricasso, Geo E Benz, St Louis Missouri. The blade has been polished by the previous owner. Overall length 35.6", blade 28.6".
