But she dreamed only of her True-Love who had ridden away to go round the world with the East Wind, promising - ‘With the West Wind I will come back to you.’ The beautiful lady turned her face away from the God, while her little dog barked and snapped at him. So the God turned her into a Windflower, where she still bends after the West Wind, watching and waiting for her True-Love’s return. Her little dog he turned into a ladybug, and you may still see him there on an adjacent leaf.
