Adriaen Van Ostade (1610-1685) etching, circa 1647(Godefry 41, Bartsch 41), 8th state (of 8). [signed in the plate] Etched after Van Ostade by a student of the artist ,in very good condition, with (small) margins all around, and clear impression, with traces of inky plate edges and wiping scratches still printing outside of the image on wove paper , later edition (late 18th Century ).

Adrian van Ostade December 10, 1610 — bur. May 2, 1685) was a Dutch genre painter and a gifted etcher-print-make.
He was the eldest son of Jan Hendricx Ostade, a weaver from the town of Ostade near Eindhoven. Although Adriaen and his brother Isaack were born in Haarlem, they adopted the name “van Ostade†as painters.
