Intricately crafted ornate wood Chinese temple carving. Displaying unusually fine artisanship, this detailed piece features inlaid contrast wood including carved flowers, Phoenix birds (an Imperial symbol, the Phoenix represented power sent from the heavens, its body symbolizes the six celestial bodies. The head is the sky, the eyes are the sun, the back is the moon, the wings are the wind, the feet are the earth, and the tail is the planets and is said to only stay when the ruling is without dark and corruption), other mythological beasts, wise holy men (with spiritual auras or halos) and a temple/palace with monks.
