Expedition to Beaufort from Harper's Weekly. Black; cream. Paper. This original engraving is titled, "The Expedition to Beaufort--Before The Attack." It is a series of three sketches. "Army & Navy Reconnaissance Tuesday morning Nov. 5," shows and labels the fleet. "Signaling the Flag-ship Wabash," shows sailors on deck sending flag signals. "the Winfield Scott losing her masts in the gale of Nov. 1st & 2nd," shows the ship in the storm. The sketches are by sailor, artist and reporter Bradley Osbon.
