Early 70’s Guild / Madeira Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar! #G34
What a gorgeous guitar this rare Guild import is!
This is one of the very rare extremely well made desirable early Japanese examples imported by Guild. This early example has the flamed maple body, flamed maple sides and flamed maple headstock. The 3 piece back has wonderful double wood inlay. It also has the abalone binding on the front and the tortoise shell binding on the back! What a gorgeous instrument! Only the very early 70’s ones were made like this. As time went on the quality went down and after the mid 70’s production moved to Korea. The later Korean examples are nothing like this!
This one has the most beautiful tone and is in excellent playing condition.
It is a repaired guitar. Someone had dropped it or sat on it and the neck was cracked at the heel and at the base of the headstock. It was expertly repaired; glued and reinforced with pins or dowels and is stronger than new and hardly noticeable. The tuners were also replaced. So… we are selling it at a fraction of what it should bring. The new owner will be a very lucky fellow or lucky gal!!!
