WE 0790 Clearly an antique parang from the Jimpul family sword, the hilt remains firmly intake though cracked, and blade pitted with rust but all these does not alter the parangs performance, it remains a formidable sword. Hilt and scabbard: Wood, crack line on the scabbard runs 15cm long and most of the rattan bands are missing from the scabbard. Total: 66 cm / 26 inches Blade only: 51 cm / 20.1 inches Weight: 0.8 kg / 1.7 lb After packing: 2.5 kg / 5.5 lb A parang (general term) is used primarily as a chopping tool or weapon.
