Description: Two small carved ivory and fruitwood sculptures attributed to the Austrian sculptor Simon Troger (1693 - 1768) .

The open mouth filled with individual teeth the deeply carved beard and eyes which clearly articulate both the pupil are characteristic of Troger's work.

Provenance: Ex English Collection

Additional Information: Troger had clients which included; Electors of Bavaria of Saxony and of Brandenburg and other royal central European families.

Troger's accomplished works were part of the collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge. His works can also be found in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London The rijksmuseum in Amsterdam the Hermitage in St. Petersburg Palazzo Pitti Florence the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich and the Grunes Gewolbe Dresden.
