Pre-columbian Chupicuaro Polychrome Figure, ca. 500-100 B.C. Wide-hipped figure standing on tapered legs, with rudimentary hands placed to the sides of her swollen abdomen, sharply squared shoulders. rounded dorsal hump, her heavy thighs wrapped in short trunks painted with black linear designs, the rectangular head with raised diamond-shaped eyes, pierced nose and parted lips showing pointed teeth, painted overall in reddish-white with her torso, face and back ornamented with stepped diamonds in black and white. Rare and superb example!
