Eros-Harpokrates was one of many Egyptian and Greek deities to become combines during the Hellenistic period. He is the combination of Eros, the Greek god of love and Horus, the son of Isis. It is the aspect of the Egyptian Horus which is stressed as opposed to the romantic and sexual aspects of Eros. Other such combinations from the period include Isis-Aphrodite and Zeus-Serapis.
